Biography

Pushpa Kumari (b. 2000, Jharkhand) is a visual artist based in Vadodara, India. Her practice is rooted in a sensitivity to the emotional dimensions of lived experience through questions of intimacy, vulnerability, and representation. Drawing from personal memory and her immediate surroundings, her paintings  foreground women, their relationships, gestures, and emotional spaces that emerge between the bodies, while reflecting on the ways women’s bodies are seen and represented.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan(2022), and her Master of Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda(2024).
