Experimenting with words and pictures: Divyakshi Kedia

What happens when words and visuals come together to tell a story? The two-hour workshop with Divyakshi at Chemould CoLab explored the creative possibilities of combining text and image to create powerful, personal narratives. While creative writing uses language to express thoughts, emotions, and experiences; visual storytelling employs images, composition, and design to convey meaning. In this beginner-friendly workshop participants were guided on  how to bring these two forms together, opening up endless opportunities for self-expression and experimentation. 🎨

Divyakshi is an illustrator, writer and designer from Mumbai, practicing in New York. She has an MFA from SVA in visual storytelling and a BFA from Parsons in Graphic Design and Illustration. Her work has appeared in publications like the New Yorker and New York Times and has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators and Creative Boom boom. She is currently working on her first graphic novel.
